Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add a splash of oil if needed.
In a medium-sized bowl, add the beef, onion powder, chili powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix to combine and form into patties.
Once hot, add the patties and cook for four to five minutes per side or until cooked through to your liking. Remove and set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together the oil, balsamic vinegar, and dijon mustard.
Season with salt and pepper.
Divide the arugula onto plates and top with avocado and red onion.
