I was born and raised in the Kansas City area. I spent the first 10 year out of residency working as a hospitalist. My own weight struggles drove me to learn more about the science of weight loss medicine. The more I learned about this new and growing field, the more it felt like my calling. In December of 2015, I took and passed the American Board of Obesity Medicine exam and became a certified diplomate in obesity medicine.
