Eating a healthy and well-balanced diet is key to staying healthy, but if you find that you’re hyper-focused on the diet (rather than reaching a goal weight or becoming healthier), you might have orthorexia nervosa. If you have orthorexia nervosa, you might spend hours each day reading labels, thinking about healthy food choices, and asking others what they’re eating. Although it’s good to be vigilant about what you eat, orthorexia can cause too much stress and even malnutrition.
