Why did you start keto?
I spent the majority of my adult life fighting to lose weight and sugar/carb addiction. I’ve tried almost every single diet on planet and even had weight loss surgery back in 2015. I turned to a ketogenic lifestyle after regaining almost all of the weight from WLS. A ketogenic lifestyle has helped me overcome my carb/sugar addiction and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
What was the hardest part of keto and how did you overcome it?
For me, the hardest part was everyone else around me. Keto wasn’t mainstream at the time and to them everything I did seemed extremely unhealthy so there was a lot of “chatter”. I overcame it by continuously educating myself. Then I was able to understand the naysayers were only repeating the years of misinformation they had been told and I focused on root cause healing.
Biggest changes in your day to day life?
Preparing most of my own foods, cooking and being informed on what I put in my body.
Best tip for newbies?
Become educated. It’s the only way to be the best advocate of your body and your health.
If there is one thing that you could tell yourself when first getting started, what would it be and why?
To understand that everyone may not understand nor is it for them to understand. I wish I had more education when I first started. I made many mistakes.
Anything you would like to add about your story?
Since starting, I myself became a coach. I’ve led thousands to a healthy ketogenic lifestyle. My BEST transformation was a man who lost 132 pounds in 7 months using only keto.
