How long have you been following a ketogenic diet? 7 years
What is your favorite keto meal? Grilled chicken in lemon butter sauce
Why did you start keto?
I was terribly overweight and my family had a history of diabetes and high BP. So, I could either do something about it or invite health trouble. And since I was a very busy mom I had no time to exercise or join a gym. So keto was the best option for me at that time in 2015. It was easy to follow and the cooking required very little time. And once I saw the results I was hooked on it.
What was the hardest part of keto and how did you overcome it?
The hardest part was no fruits. With time I got over the cravings and planned to eat them on cheat days only.
Biggest changes in your day-to-day life?
I got active, there was no brain fog. I had energy like never before. I could multitask and set new and higher goals for myself. The glow on my face was the motivation to keep going and not give up.
Best tip for newbies?
Be consistent. It is a scientifc diet, not magic. Eat precisely, do not do guesswork. Do not compare your results to others. And please be patient and do not give up. Do not believe everything you read on the Internet, use your head.
If there is one thing that you could tell yourself when first getting started, what would it be and why?
I am doing it for myself, not the world and not for anybody else. I can do this!!
