What is your favorite keto meal? Wings!
Why did you start keto?
I went on a trip to New York back in 2018 and that’s when I realized how out of shape I was, I felt really embarrassed and knew I had to make a change. When I came back I had a doctors appointment and I was told I was prediabetic and that was the push I really needed to start, not only for my physical health but mental health as well.
What was the hardest part of keto and how did you overcome it?
The hardest part was living in a Mexican household where there’s always sweet bread and my grandmas delicious cooking. It was hard to say no.
Biggest changes in your day-to-day life?
Honestly, the small things I didn’t even realize before like tying my shoe lace with no problem, walking groceries into the house, walking my dog. No longer having feet pain.
Best tip for newbies?
Just start, don’t overthink it. Be really patient and consistent. Don’t give up just because you have a “bad day,” keep pushing the next day. Oh and drink a lot of water!
If there is one thing that you could tell yourself when first getting started, what would it be and why?
I would tell her that I’m so proud of her for even starting and to stop being so hard on yourself. I was really hard on myself when I first started. I even isolated myself from people but now I know that you don’t have to do that to live this lifestyle.
