Air-fryers are the latest craze for a reason! They make meal prep (and cooking in general) quicker and easier. When you think of air fryer meals, you probably think of kale chips, zucchini fries, or other veggies, but you can actually make a wide variety of foods in the air fryer. Yes, that includes dessert! Here is a 3-course keto meal that you can make entirely from your air fryer.
Start off your 3-course air fryer keto right with these easy and crispy air fryer keto onion rings! In less than 15 minutes you’ll have crispy and easy air fryer onion rings! Enjoy them alone, or with a side of your favorite keto condiments (like sugar-free ketchup or spicy mayo)!
One large keto onion ring is less than 50 calories and only 0.6 grams of net carbs!
Ingredients
Directions
1 Peel and cut the onion in half.
2 Cut slices lengthwise to create an onion ring shape and pop out the layers of onion within the onion ring.
3 Mix the eggs in a shallow bowl until well combined.
4 Place the pork rinds in a large ziplock bag and crush to a fine consistency.
5 Add the seasonings into the pork rind crumbs and shake until well combined.
6 Dip each onion ring piece into the egg wash and then place in the ziplock bag.
7 Shake until the onion is evenly coated. Note: if you have a difficult time getting the crumbs to stick, try pressing them directly into the onion. If the pork rinds begin to clump and will no longer stick, you may have let too much egg into the bag. Start again with freshly crumbled pork rinds in a new bag.
8 Place the onion rings in the air fryer at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 minutes.
9 Allow your keto onion rings to cool before serving with a side of your favorite keto condiment (we recommend spicy mayo).
Now it’s time for the main course! When you think of chicken nuggets, you probably think of flour battered and fried chicken bites. They are typically loaded with carbs and unhealthy oils. Luckily, we have the perfect alternative recipe for you! And the best part? They take less than 20 minutes to make!
